There is no secret that Kamloops town is an amazing place to be. Many people have visited the city each year, and they always got a good reason – it gives a number of things to do. It doesn’t matter whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, I have put together all the information you need in order to plan your trip! I’ll tell you what day trips are worth taking, where you should stay and eat, the best things to do in Kamloops BC, as well as some of the favourite things to do in this beautiful city (Casandra, 2022).
Kamloops City, BC Background
Kamloops is a city in the Thompson Valley of British Columbia located at the junction of the North and South Thompson Rivers. Research shows that it has a population of 90,000 people and the population is still growing.
This awesome city has got a number of things to do including bike and wildlife parks, hiking paths, along with other interesting places vying for your attention. Kamloops is known as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts and sportsmen. Activities such as hunting, fishing and camping are popular in this area of BC.
This city is also a spot for cycling enthusiasts because there’s an extensive network of green-ways throughout Kamloops that make it easy to navigate the hilly terrain. Kamloops offers all sorts of activities to please visitors: golfing, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, water skiing, boating and so much more.Below is a list of some of the best things you can do while in Kamloops city.
a.) Affordable and diverse education
Canadian higher learning is affordable compared to the countries like the U.S.A, UK and Asian countries. Thompson River University is located in Kamloops. More than 3,000 international students get educated and they understand the different cultures without the need to traverse far.
a) When is the Best Time to Visit Kamloops?
The best time of year to visit Kamloops is between the months of May and September to enjoy the beautiful spring and summer season. However, the winter months provide the best skiing and snowboarding at nearby Sun Peaks Resort or Harper Mountain. When you visit Kamloops during this time, you get an opportunity to enjoy and have a great time.
b.) Visit Riverside Part
Riverside part provides a relaxed and relaxing environment with several things to enjoy the outdoor recreational activities. It has an outdoor gurgle pool, tennis courts, and children’s playgrounds. It also has walking trails around its perimeter that give visitors a chance to experience nature up close. In the summer of 2021, the Riverside part was renovated, and the addition offers delicious food trucks, kayak rentals, water bike rentals, and lawn games
c.) Monte creek Winery
Apart from the places mentioned above, you can also visit the largest winery in Kamloops Monte Greek. This is an exceptional place for wine tasting that offers a good wine shop with farm products, natural honey, a selection of gift items, books, and, of course, bottles of wine
d.) BC Wildlife Park Kamloops
The Park is located east of Kamloops city at 9077 Dallas Dr, nearly a 20-minute drive from Kamloops. This part has more than 200 world animals, including bears, elk, bobcats, arctic wolves, and cougars. You can’t get over the pleasant feeling of watching bears being fed as well as birds of prey flight demonstrations and nature express miniature train riders. The best time to visit the Park is during winter.

e.) Sun peaks Resort
The Sun Peaks Resort is a 45-minute drive away from Kamloops city. The resort is Canada’s 2nd-largest ski area and has got three mountains surrounding the European-style village, your options to spend your time here are endless (“Kamloops – Wikipedia”, 2022).
The Sun Peaks resort is a four-season resort that you can find plenty of things to do any time of the year. During the summer you can go hiking, play a round of golf, go mountain biking or simply relax poolside at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel (“Kamloops – Wikipedia”, 2022).
If you’re looking for an escape from the city or just need some relaxation Sun Peaks Resort is the perfect destination. The European-inspired village has restaurants, shopping and even an outdoor covered ice rink (“Kamloops – Wikipedia”, 2022).
